How to play Roulette
Whether you enjoy a casual spin at the wheel or try to actually go for the big win in Roulette, there are certain Roulette strategies one can deploy to drastically improve their chances of success. In our terminology post we mentioned the differences between European Roulette, American Roulette, how the Roulette table itself is set up and more, so in this post we will get more into some Roulette tips and tricks for all you gamblers out there, giving you better chances at victory in a game of Roulette!
The Martingale and Reverse Martingale Roulette Strategy
The Martingale and reverse Martingale is a very common but also very effective Roulette strategy, so let us break down what it is, how to use it and how to make the Roulette wheel your own. Mind you, none of these Roulette strategies we provide in this post are highly efficient, be it in online casinos, when playing a game of online Roulette, or at any real Roulette table, but they do not serve as guarantee that you win. Now let’s get to the most common betting strategy when it comes to Roulette games, the Martingale strategy. Simply put, this Roulette strategy is based on doubling your bet after taking an initial loss. The goal is to recoup all the previous losses whilst also gaining a small profit upon payout. Here are some key points you should follow in regards to this Roulette strategy:
Firstly you want to make sure that the Roulette table you are playing on provides the option of small min and large max bets. This is due to the nature of the martingale Roulette strategy, for if you eventually have a couple of losses in a row but reach the maximum bet amount you can no longer double up the bet to make up for the previous losses in the next payout. Therefore it is important to check the rules and bet amounts of the Roulette game first, as each table offers different ones. This is especially the case for online European Roulette variants. Then you will want to place a small wager on either red or black, even or odd, or 1-18 19-36 or simply put certain forms of outside bets.
The only form of outside bets we do not suggest during this Roulette strategy is to bid on a row of numbers.

Martingale at a glance
If you win, keep the payout and bet the same small wager again.
Should you lose, double the original wager and put it on the same bet again, meaning if you lost 1£ on red, place 2£ on red again.
If you win, keep the payout and place the initial small bet, you’ve recouped your losses and can go back to a smaller amount.
Should you lose again, double the wager again.
Repeat this process until either your bankroll has depleted, or you have reached the max bet at the online Roulette game or Roulette table of your choosing.
As with any Roulette strategy, be it for online casinos or otherwise, there are downsides to the Martingale. Keep the old gambler’s fallacy in mind that just because one colour has won 100 times in a row, does not mean the other colour is more likely to appear on the next spin. This is especially true in the case of Roulette as the chances are a little less than 50/50 for any given spin due to the zero and double-zero being part of the Roulette wheel as well. This is of course also dependent by the kind of Roulette table you choose to play on, as the European Roulette compared to the American Roulette does not feature a double-zero.
As for the reverse martingale it is quite simple as one might imagine given the name.
Instead of raising your bets when you lose, you increase them when you win and decrease your bets when you lose. The idea is to capitalize on what’s referred to as “hot streaks” and cutting your losses during rough patches. Do not overcommit trying to make more of outside bets than there really is to make. This is especially true for Roulette games on online casinos, as sometimes the lack of other players and their faces can lead to falsely estimate the table's dynamics.
The Fibonacci Strategy
As mentioned above, the Fibonacci system is also more suited for European Roulette rather than the American Roulette variants. As with most Roulette tips we again would like to mention that this method is applicable for both online Roulette and real Roulette wheels but does not guarantee that you win. This is due to the fact that casino games are, and always will remain games of chance. Roulette is no different, but if you play smart you obviously have more impact over the outcome of your own Roulette bets than compared to some other casino games.
Fibonacci strategy broken down
Once again this strategy starts with placing a bet on outside bets (except row bets), so starting with a small bet on red or black, even or odd, or 1-18 or 19-36.
Should you lose, increase your wager based on the sequence.
Should you have lost and bet 1£, bet another 1£.
Should you lose the second bet increase the next bet to 2£ (1£+1£=2£).
If you win, move back two numbers in the sequence and bet that amount.
An example of a Fibonacci sequence would look something like this:
Bet on red, 1£ - loss
Bet on red, 1£ - loss
Bet on red, 2£ - loss
Bet on red, 3£ - loss
Bet on red, 5£ - win
Bet on red, 2£ - loss
Bet on red, 3£ - win
Bet on red, 1£ - win
Bet on red, 1£ - win
Thus your bankroll would look something akin to this at the end: -1 -1 -2 -3 +5 -2 +3 +1 +1 = +1
Even though you only won four bets and lost five you are still ahead in the end. As with any of our Roulette tips there is a certain risk attached to this Roulette strategy. Namely that the further you fall down the sequence the more money you are at risk of losing. Therefore it is important to cut your losses early and quickly, especially in online Roulette where you might not pay so much attention to your bankroll as usual.

The James Bond Strategy
Of course, what would a game of Roulette be without a potentially awesome chance at making a strategy based around a risk taking agent such as James Bond himself? Roulette is a game of chance after all but some games of online Roulette can be spied on easily with this method.
The James Bond strategy using example bets
Place an outside bet of 140£ on the high numbers 19-36
Bet 50£ on the numbers 13 through 18
And lastly place a small bet of 10£ on zero as insurance
Should you happen to be unlucky and any numbers between 1 and 12 show up, you just lost 200£ and should perhaps choose to go with the Martingale strategy from here on out.
However, if the Roulette gods are kind to you, you’ve just earned yourself a decent payout. Should the Roulette wheel have the ball land on 19-36, you win 80£. 13-18 earns you 100£ and should a zero pop up your bankroll is up 160£!
The big downside to this strategy is obviously the risk associated with the numbers between 1 and 12. But this is Roulette we are talking about and Agent 007 is all about risk taking so if you feel like having a good day at the Roulette table, maybe Lady Luck is on your side that day?
We hope these little tips which can apply to both online Roulette or normal Roulette will be of use to you next time you play a game of Roulette. Do not forget to always check the format of your Roulette game or Roulette table and what bets are offered on each.
Roulette is a game of chance with players having no influence over the outcome of each round. Winning at Roulette is a question of perseverance and discipline. Especially when it comes to American Roulette and European Roulette you have to make sure to pick a corresponding strategy to go along with the format. Nothing is ever guaranteed in a game of Roulette but one thing, the ball will eventually land in a pocket! Adapt your strategies, do not overcommit and accept that Roulette does not care about your plans. It is capricious as it is wonderful - so simply enjoy your time with Roulette!
As always, remember to gamble with responsibility!
