Serie A league

The Serie A season runs from August to May, with 20 teams playing each other home and away over 38 matchdays. The champions, along with the teams finishing second and third — plus a fourth club depending on the current UEFA coefficient — qualify directly for the Champions League. The teams below them go into the Europa League and Conference League qualification pool, with the Coppa Italia winner traditionally also earning European football. The bottom three drop into Serie B.
