NASCAR betting – fun for motorsports lovers
The US association NASCAR is relatively unknown in the UK, but it organises more than 30 races a season, offering outstanding betting opportunities for motorsports lovers, in particular. NASCAR races are hugely popular in the US, overtaking even Formula 1.
What is NASCAR?
NASCAR races have their roots in America's prohibition era. Bootleggers secretly delivered the alcohol they'd made to their customers overnight. To do so, they used cars they'd modified themselves and developed risky driving manoeuvres, like the bootleg turn, a 180-degree turn at full acceleration, to ensure they could outpace the police. The first stock car race in history took place in Daytona Beach as far back as 1936. Lots of motorsports organisations were founded after the war, and the NASCAR Sprint Cup began in 1949 with the NASCAR Strictly Stock season. The Sprint Cup is still being held today! NASCAR truck races are similarly popular and much-loved. The racing season starts in February with the famous Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and ends in November with the Homestead Miami Speedway.
NASCAR rules
• In qualifying (timed racing) bets, the winner is determined by the official ranking of qualifying times.
• In a head-to-head bet (H2H), all the bets are voided if a driver does not start the qualification race or does not end the season with an official time.
• If one or more drivers don't line up at the start for an H2H race, all the bets are voided.
• If one or more drivers don't reach the finish line, the driver with the highest number of completed laps wins.
• If no drivers reach the final classification and all the drivers have the same number of laps, all the bets are voided.
• Plus, bets are voided if one or both drivers compete in fewer than 32 NASCAR races.
Get started with NASCAR betting
Before you place your first bet, you need to learn about motorsports betting, general and specific betting rules, and NASCAR itself. Official NASCAR websites provide plenty of information on this motorsport. It's quick and easy to get started if you already have a general interest in motorsports! If you don't live in the USA, you can still watch NASCAR races live thanks to certain special TV channels.
NASCAR betting opportunities
You can place numerous different bets. Just like Formula 1, you can bet on a position or victory, and pole position, too. This means that there are different odds available for single and parlay bets for every weekend of racing. NASCAR live bets, placed while a race is under way, are especially exciting. Generally speaking, season bets are also an option. This involves betting on the season's winner, on the teams behind them, or on the NASCAR series. The general betting rules apply, along with some special rules, which take precedence.
